Finance Officer

Perth CBD Temporary View Job Description
This role will report directly to the Senior Cost Controller and provide financial and administrative support to help manage the continuous growth and new major projects, with a focus on purchase orders, invoice processing and assisting budget tracking, forecasting and reporting.

About Our Client

Our client is a large, well-established mining company with significant operations in Western Australia. The business is currently experiencing strong growth, with several major operational, technology and infrastructure projects underway.

Job Description

    • Create, process and maintain purchase orders within the finance and procurement system.
    • Monitor purchase order status, ensuring approvals are completed and invoices are correctly matched.
    • Process supplier invoices, payments and other financial transactions accurately and promptly.
    • Review supporting documentation and resolve invoice, payment and account discrepancies.
    • Monitor departmental expenditure against budgets and assist with forecasting and financial analysis.
    • Prepare financial data, management reports and summaries for review.
    • Maintain accurate financial records, spreadsheets, databases and reporting templates.
    • Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding invoices, purchase orders, payments and account queries.
    • Ensure financial transactions comply with company policies, procedures and approval requirements.
    • Support month-end and year-end financial processes as required.
    • Assist with audit requirements by providing financial records and supporting documentation.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to support accurate and timely financial reporting.

As this is a newly created position, the scope of the role will continue to develop in line with business needs. There will be an opportunity for the successful candidate to take ownership of the position and grow their experience in cost control.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Financial Administrator should have:

  • 1-3 years experience in a similar role, looking to take the next step in their career.
  • Previous SAP experience highly regarded.
  • Good reporting skills, including experience preparing reports and presentations.
  • A can-do attitude and willingness to work outside a strictly defined job scope.
  • The ability to adapt as the role and business requirements develop.
  • Problem-solving skills to address financial discrepancies effectively.



Bilingual English and Mandarin language skills will be highly regarded but are not essential.
