We are seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join a 6-month role within the retail industry. This opportunity involves managing financial processes and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Our client is an ASX-listed organisation in the retail sector, known for its commitment to quality and operational excellence.

Job Description

  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Ensure compliance with reporting requirements and regulatory guidelines.
  • Handle month-end and year-end financial close processes.
  • Manage general ledger reconciliations and maintain financial records accurately.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities to support business planning.
  • Coordinate and liaise with auditors during audits and resolve any queries.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement efficiencies.
  • Support the team with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Financial Accountant should have:

  • A degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualifications such as CA or CPA (or working towards).
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Experience in financial reporting and compliance.
