An exciting opportunity for an experienced IT Project Manager to lead multiple technology and business transformation initiatives across a large, operationally complex organisation. An established organisation operating within the transport and distribution industry, located in Brisbane.Our client is a well-established Australian organisation operating within a fast-paced and highly operational environment.

With a significant technology transformation agenda underway, the business is investing in modernising its systems, improving operational visibility and strengthening the way technology projects are governed and delivered.

Technology plays a critical role in supporting day-to-day operations, and this role will work closely with senior leaders, operational teams, technology specialists and external partners to deliver projects that create measurable business value.

Job Description

Reporting into senior technology leadership, the IT Project Manager will take ownership of a diverse portfolio of technology and business change initiatives.

The role will suit a commercially minded Project Manager who enjoys working across multiple projects and can bring structure, accountability and momentum to an evolving project environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage multiple technology projects simultaneously from initiation through to successful delivery
  • Take end-to-end ownership of project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, dependencies and outcomes
  • Establish and continually improve project governance, adapting the level of governance to suit the size, complexity and risk of individual projects
  • Develop clear project plans, milestones and reporting frameworks
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to establish priorities and ensure projects remain aligned with broader business objectives
  • Identify risks, blockers and dependencies early and drive appropriate resolution
  • Lead technology implementations and upgrades across enterprise and operational systems
  • Manage projects involving CRM, business applications, operational platforms and digital transformation
  • Coordinate internal technology teams, business stakeholders, vendors and implementation partners
  • Support process redesign alongside technology implementation
  • Drive change management, stakeholder engagement and user adoption throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure projects deliver practical and measurable improvements rather than simply completing technical implementation
  • Provide clear and concise project reporting to senior leadership
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the organisation's broader project and technology delivery capability
  • The project portfolio includes a combination of enterprise application implementations, system upgrades, operational technology initiatives and wider digital transformation projects.



The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be an experienced IT Project Manager with a strong track record of taking ownership of complex projects and driving them through to completion.

You will ideally bring:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering multiple IT projects concurrently
  • Strong end-to-end project management capability
  • Excellent project governance, planning and reporting skills
  • The ability to introduce structure and governance without creating unnecessary bureaucracy
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • A proactive, delivery-focused approach with the confidence to challenge stakeholders and drive decisions when required
  • Experience managing enterprise application implementations, upgrades or digital transformation initiatives
  • Strong vendor and third-party management experience
  • Experience delivering projects involving significant business process change
  • An understanding of change management, user adoption and organisational readiness
  • The ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced and operationally complex environment



Experience within transport, logistics, supply chain, distribution, manufacturing or another operationally intensive industry would be highly regarded but is not essential.

  • More importantly, you will be someone who can bring people together, create clarity and accountability, and ensure projects actually get delivered.
