We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join a leading engineering and construction organisation on a 5-month contract commencing immediately. Working closely with finance and operational stakeholders, you will provide critical financial analysis, project reporting, budgeting and support across a portfolio of projects.

Job Description

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs.
  • Analyse project performance, profitability, margins, and cost drivers.
  • Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
  • Partner with project managers and operational leaders to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Monitor work-in-progress (WIP), project costs, and revenue recognition.
  • Investigate financial variances and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Support month-end reporting and financial close activities.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and commercial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Management Accountant should have:

  • Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance.
  • Available to commence immediately or at short notice.
  • Proven experience as a Management Accountant, Commercial Accountant or Project Accountant.
  • Previous experience within engineering, construction, infrastructure, mining services or another project-based industry.
  • Strong understanding of project accounting, cost control, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems.
  • CA, CPA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification preferred.
