Job Description

  • Develop and embed payroll governance frameworks, policies and controls
  • Ensure payroll processes align with legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Identify control gaps and implement remediation strategies
  • Drive continuous improvement across payroll operations
  • Analyse payroll processes to improve efficiency, accuracy and compliance
  • Support internal and external audit requirements
  • Deliver governance reporting on risks, controls and process effectiveness
  • Partner with HR, Finance and Payroll teams to standardise best practices
  • Challenge and improve legacy processes through automation and simplification
  • Provide subject matter expertise on payroll governance and compliance

The Successful Applicant

A successful Payroll Governance professional should have:

  • Proven experience in payroll governance, compliance or payroll operations
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processes and legislation
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and implement controls
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Experience managing risk, audits and compliance frameworks
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Ability to document processes and translate complex information clearly
  • Systems experience (e.g. Chris21, UKG highly regarded)
