Job Description

Reporting into the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Officer will be responsible for:

  • Processing end-to-end payroll for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments
  • Maintaining and updating payroll records in line with Australian legislation
  • Handling payroll queries and providing clear, accurate information to employees and management
  • Reconciling payroll accounts and preparing reports for management review
  • Collaborating with the Accounting & Finance team to ensure seamless integration of payroll data
  • Staying up to date with payroll legislation and ensuring compliance with awards and agreements
  • Assisting with end-of-year payroll activities, including group certificates
  • Contributing to process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Officer in a high-volume, end-to-end payroll environment
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements (NZ exposure highly regarded)
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with payroll systems such as ADP or SuccessFactors (advantageous, not essential)
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach with the ability to manage competing deadlines
