An opportunity has become available for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a leading international financial services business on an initial 3-6 month temporary assignment. This role will see you supporting payroll operations, ensuring compliance and supporting employees through accurate and timely payroll processing.

Job Description

Reporting into the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll while ensuring all legislative and compliance requirements are met.

Key responsibilities include:

  • End-to-end payroll processing
  • Managing payroll transactions including new starters, terminations and employee changes
  • Processing pay runs accurately and within strict deadlines
  • Interpreting relevant awards, enterprise agreements and payroll legislation
  • Calculating leave entitlements, deductions and payroll adjustments
  • Managing payroll queries from employees and stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with Australian payroll legislation, superannuation and taxation requirements
  • Reconciling payroll data and resolving discrepancies
  • Supporting month-end reporting and payroll reconciliations
  • Assisting with payroll audits and compliance processes
  • Working closely with Finance, HR and key internal stakeholders
  • Contributing to payroll process improvements and system enhancements



The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in an end-to-end Payroll Officer position
  • Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation
  • Experience processing medium to large payrolls
  • High attention to detail and strong accuracy levels
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Experience using payroll systems such as Rippling is beneficial
  • Available to commence immediately or at short notice
