Job Description

Reporting into the Payroll Manager, the successful Payroll Officer will be responsible for:

  • Processing end-to-end weekly payroll for a national workforce.
  • Managing payroll adjustments, leave administration, salary packaging, and terminations.
  • Completing payroll reconciliations, reporting, and month-end payroll activities.
  • Maintaining employee payroll records, including new starters and leavers.
  • Interpreting awards, enterprise agreements, and relevant payroll legislation.
  • Responding to payroll enquiries and providing support to employees and stakeholders.
  • Supporting payroll system administration and continuous process improvements.
  • Assisting with payroll audits and ensuring ongoing compliance requirements are met.



The Successful Applicant

A successful Payroll Officer should have:

  • Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing within a high-volume environment.
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, awards, enterprise agreements, and termination calculations.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working across multiple systems.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to delivering accurate payroll outcomes.
  • Professional communication skills with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with a focus on continuous improvement and process efficiency.
  • Experience with TechnologyOne and/or not-for-profit salary packaging will be highly regarded.
