Job Description

The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Support core financial processes across project accounting and month-end activities.
  • Prepare and process timesheet journals and other month-end adjustments.
  • Assist with cost of sales reviews and project cost allocations.
  • Identify process gaps, inconsistencies and areas that may impact financial accuracy.
  • Support the mapping, documentation and continuous improvement of finance processes.
  • Establish clear ownership and accountability across key finance activities.
  • Improve consistency in the way processes are performed, documented and communicated.
  • Develop processes that are easier to train, hand over and transition between team members.
  • Implement regular monthly cost reporting and improve visibility of project financial performance.
  • Strengthen handoffs between finance and operational teams.
  • Reduce manual rework and improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes.
  • Provide stronger support for revenue recognition and overall project financial management.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Financial Accountant should have:

  • A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as CA or CPA.
  • Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and regulations.
  • Experience in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
