This is not your typical Financial Controller role. As the finance lead for the Brisbane operations, you'll combine strong financial control with genuine business partnering. You'll work closely with Operations, Sales and senior leadership to identify opportunities, improve profitability, challenge the status quo and help shape the future direction of the business.

Job Description

  • Own the Brisbane business unit P&L and financial performance.
  • Lead monthly reporting, close processes and financial sign-off activities.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure strong financial controls are maintained.
  • Partner with Operations, Sales and senior stakeholders to influence decision-making.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting activities.
  • Develop financial models, business cases and scenario analysis.
  • Analyse operational and financial KPIs to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Deliver insightful reporting and performance commentary to leadership teams.
  • Drive initiatives focused on cost reduction, productivity and margin improvement.
  • Analyse customer, product and operational profitability.
  • Support an ERP transformation and drive system improvements.
  • Work closely with offshore accounting support teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Contribute as a key member of the Brisbane leadership team.



The Successful Applicant

You are a hands-on Finance Manager or Financial Controller who enjoys being part of the business rather than sitting on the sidelines.

You'll bring a strong technical accounting foundation, coupled with the commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills required to influence business outcomes.

  • CA or CPA qualification.
  • Proven experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar leadership role.
  • Full P&L ownership experience.
  • Strong month-end, financial reporting and financial control capability.
  • Experience partnering with operational and commercial stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success driving business improvement and profitability initiatives.
  • Advanced Excel skills and exposure to ERP systems.
  • SAP experience or involvement in a major ERP implementation will be highly regarded.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • The confidence to challenge, collaborate and drive positive change.



Experience within logistics, transport, industrial services, infrastructure, manufacturing, mining services or similarly operational environments will be highly regarded.
