The Senior Financial Accountant will play a critical role in financial reporting, month-end processes, audit coordination, compliance, and continuous improvement across a diverse hospitality and leisure portfolio.This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant who enjoys improving processes, partnering with stakeholders, and contributing to business performance through high-quality financial reporting and analysis.

About Our Client

A reputable organisation within the Event and Hospitality industry, located in Melbourne.

Job Description

    • Lead month-end close activities and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
    • Manage balance sheet reconciliations and maintain integrity of the general ledger.
    • Coordinate year-end processes and act as a key contact for external auditors.
    • Oversee ATO compliance requirements across the business.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across reporting, reconciliations, controls, and system integrations.
    • Review and strengthen financial policies, procedures, and venue cash controls.
    • Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial insights for senior stakeholders.
    • Build strong relationships with venue management, operational teams, and finance stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant

  • CA/CPA qualified with a degree in Accounting.
  • 5+ years' experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills.
  • Experience with audits, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong systems capability.
  • Ability to analyse financial data, identify trends, and provide meaningful recommendations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

What's on Offer

  • Hourly rate ranging from AUD 55 to AUD 70
  • Temporary role lasting 3-6 months. Potential to go perm if full work rights
