The Financial Reporting Accountant will be responsible for preparing and analysing financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant standards. This temporary role within the Financial services sector offers a role to contribute to the accounting and finance department.
  • Immediate Start - Hybrid Working Arrangement
  • $120,000-140,000 Excl. Superannuation, Melbourne CBD

Job Description

The Financial Reporting Accountant will be responsible for the following:

  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Analyse financial data to identify trends and discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary financial information.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports for stakeholders and management.
  • Support the month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
  • Maintain accurate and organised financial records and documentation.
  • Provide technical advice on financial reporting matters as needed.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Financial Reporting Accountant should have:

  • A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • CA/CPA Qualification & Experience within practice or experience in a similar role within industry (ideally professional services or financial services)
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience in preparing and analysing financial statements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • The ability to work effectively in a temporary role and meet deadlines.
