Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join the team.

Job Description

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing across multiple payrolls (circa. 1,100 employees)
  • Process and review employee commencements, terminations, salary changes, leave, allowances and deductions.
  • Calculate and manage complex payroll transactions including terminations, back pays and payroll adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, awards, employment conditions and statutory obligations.
  • Complete payroll reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Prepare payroll reporting, journals and payroll-related financial information.
  • Provide accurate payroll advice and support to employees, managers and key stakeholders.
  • Identify and drive payroll process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain payroll documentation, procedures and controls.
  • Support and mentor less experienced team members while contributing to business continuity across the payroll function.



The Successful Applicant

  • Proven end-to-end payroll experience within a medium to large organisation.
  • Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards, agreements, PAYG, superannuation and statutory requirements.
  • Excellent reconciliation, reporting and analytical skills.
  • Experience managing complex payroll queries and payroll calculations.
  • Strong payroll systems and Microsoft Excel capability.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and willingness to contribute beyond day-to-day processing.
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously.
