An exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join a global organisation within the manufacturing and industrial sector, taking ownership of key financial accounting responsibilities across multiple entities. Working closely with senior finance leadership, you will support financial reporting, compliance, process improvement initiatives, and day-to-day finance operations within a collaborative team environment.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the CFO, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting month-end close activities, financial reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Preparing journals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Managing GRIR reconciliations and maintaining general ledger accuracy.
  • Assisting with year-end audits and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Supporting BAS, Payroll Tax, FBT, and income tax processes.
  • Coordinating intercompany accounting transactions and reconciliations.
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register.
  • Supporting Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable process improvements.
  • Assisting with internal controls, governance, and compliance activities.
  • Driving process improvement initiatives and supporting ad hoc finance projects.



The Successful Applicant

You will bring:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 2-3 years' experience within an Assistant Accountant or Financial Accountant position.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to take ownership and improve processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • SAP experience will be highly regarded but is not essential.
