This role offers a unique blend of hands-on accounting, management reporting and project accounting, while providing exposure to finance transformation, AI and automation initiatives. Working closely with the CFO and Group Financial Controller, you'll help improve financial processes, support major projects and develop your commercial finance capabilities.

Our client is a rapidly growing Australian engineering and infrastructure business delivering complex projects across energy, resources and industrial sectors.

Job Description

  • Assist with month-end close and preparation of management accounts.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting workpapers.
  • Support payroll processing and payroll reconciliations.
  • Prepare BAS, FBT, PRT and other compliance workpapers.
  • Support annual audit and tax compliance processes.
  • Maintain integrity of accounting records and reconciliations.
  • Assist with cash flow reporting and forecasting.
  • Support EPC project accounting including cost tracking, reporting and analysis.
  • Assist with project margin reviews and project performance reporting.
  • Participate in AI, automation and ERP optimisation initiatives.
  • Document, review and redesign finance processes.
  • Support dashboard development and reporting automation projects.
  • Assist with implementation and testing of new systems and controls.
  • Work collaboratively across the business to improve finance processes.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Assistant Management Accountant should have:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Working towards CA/CPA qualification.
  • 2+ years experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and a strong understanding of accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
