We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading engineering services organisation working within a collaborative engineering team, you will design electrical control systems and develop schematics for new installations, upgrades and retrofit projects.

Our client is a well-established Australian engineering and industrial services organisation with extensive experience delivering automation, electrical and project solutions.

Job Description

  • Design and develop industrial electrical control systems and associated documentation.
  • Produce electrical schematics and drawings for new equipment installations and retrofit projects.
  • Specify electrical and automation components by reviewing technical data sheets and determining suitability.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, automation and electrical teams to deliver project outcomes.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable Australian standards and industry requirements.
  • Support project delivery through commissioning, troubleshooting and technical problem-solving activities.
  • Manage multiple projects and ensure deliverables are completed within agreed timelines.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and innovative engineering solutions.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Electric Design Engineer should have:

  • Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in electrical control system design engineering.
  • Strong experience within food & beverage, manufacturing or highly automated industrial environments.
  • Proficiency using EPLAN (essential) and AutoCAD Electrical (highly regarded).
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and component data sheets.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • NER and/or RPEV registration will be highly regarded but is not essential.
