A proud Australian business, our client has been in function for over a quarter century, providing high-level services to the West Australian community. Due to company growth, the team is now looking to expand its finance function with this new hire.

Job Description

Reporting into the Financial Controller, the key duties of this role include:

  • Prepare monthly Work In Progress (WIP) reports and cost tracking.
  • Prepare and review financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Lead month end, quarter end and year end activities.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes to support business objectives.
  • Manage cash flow and oversee financial planning activities.
  • Prepare management accounts.
  • Oversight of project financials to ensure accurate cost control.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide financial insights and recommendations.
  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team to maintain high performance.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Support the preparation of financial audits and liaise with external auditors.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will possess the following traits:

  • CA/CPA Qualified.
  • Prior experience working in a construction, manufacturing or projects environment.
  • Work In Progress (WIP) experience.
  • Strong intercompany reconciliation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring teams within the accounting and finance department.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders.
