Seeking a Financial Accountant to join a Not for Profit organisation in Melbourne's South East.

About Our Client

Join a well-established not-for-profit organisation operating across Victoria. The successful candidate will work closely with operational leaders across the organisation to support the financial management of various government-funded programs.

Job Description

  • Manage grant and funding reporting, ensuring compliance with funding agreements, tracking funding receipts and expenditures, and preparing financial acquittals for funding bodies.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register, including asset additions, disposals, depreciation calculations, reconciliations, and capital works/WIP management.
  • Prepare month-end financial reporting, including journals, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and management reporting across multiple business units and funded programs.
  • Support annual audits and statutory reporting requirements, providing financial analysis, working papers, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, FBT and other compliance reporting, ensuring accurate GST treatment and adherence to statutory deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts, monitor liquidity positions, and investigate variances to improve forecasting accuracy.
  • Assist with WorkCover reporting and premium calculations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, support system enhancements, and provide broader finance team support as required.



The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business or Finance.
  • CA ANZ / CPA qualification (or progressing towards)
  • 3-4 years relevant experience as a Financial Accountant / similar role.
  • Experienced working in the For Purpose space - grant funding exposure is essential
