The Group Financial Accounting Manager will oversee financial reporting and ensure compliance with accounting standards within the transport & distribution industry. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in accounting and finance. The role will also play a key part of the organisation;s leadership team, managing on-shore and off-shore teams.

Job Description



The Group Financial Accounting & Control Manager will be responsible for:

  • Lead the end-to-end financial reporting and close process, ensuring the timely delivery of accurate and compliant financial results, while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and balance sheet.
  • Oversee the performance of finance operations, including outsourced service providers, driving service excellence, process standardisation, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical accounting leadership, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, robust financial controls, effective governance, and successful audit and statutory reporting outcomes.
  • Partner with finance and business stakeholders to support decision-making, manage financial risk, and ensure the accurate financial representation of business activities.
  • Lead and develop high-performing teams while driving finance transformation, automation, and process improvement initiatives to enhance capability, scalability, and control.



The Successful Applicant

A successful Financial Accounting Control Manager should have:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualifications such as CA or CPA.
  • Proven experience in financial accounting and control within the transport & distribution industry.
  • Audit experience highly regarded
  • Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities.
  • A proactive approach to improving financial processes and systems.
  • Experience with large complex clients in audit or industry experience with a large complex multinational highly regarded
