We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our client within the Manufacturing sector. This contract position will play a critical role in progressing product design, prototype development and engineering documentation to support testing, validation and future production activities.
  • Brisbane based candidates only Full time onsite role
  • 6am - 3pm roster, with a half day Friday.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities· Review, update and optimise existing mechanical designs and assemblies for a specific product.

· Create and modify 3D models, drawings and engineering documentation using SolidWorks.

· Develop preliminary component designs and prototypes for product trials and validation activities.

· Work with plastic component designs, manufacturability considerations and product improvement initiatives.

· Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure accuracy and version control.

· Migrate and manage engineering files within the SolidWorks PDM environment.

· Collaborate closely with manufacturing personnel to ensure designs are practical and production-ready.

· Utilise 3D printing technologies to support rapid prototyping and design iterations.

· Identify design issues and implement engineering solutions within project timeframes.

· Ensure documentation accuracy, quality standards and system integrity are maintained throughout the project.

The Successful Applicant

Skills and Experience· Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.

· Minimum 3-5 years of mechanical engineering / design experience.

· Experience designing products and components using plastics.

· SolidWorks capability, including modelling, assemblies and drawing creation.

· Previous experience administering or working within SolidWorks PDM environments.

· Hands-on experience with prototype development and 3D printing technologies.

· Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacture principles.

· Excellent attention to detail and documentation control skills.

· Strong problem-solving abilities with a practical, hands-on approach.
