Michael Page are partnering with an established, nationally recognised organisation, based in Logan, who are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join their high-performing team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Job Description

The Payroll Officer will be responsible for:

  • End-to-end processing of weekly and monthly payrolls across a large employee base
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records including onboarding, terminations, and contractual changes
  • Perform complex payroll calculations including overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions
  • Ensure compliance with PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation, workers compensation, and long service leave obligations
  • Manage termination calculations with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Act as a key point of contact for employee payroll enquiries, delivering a high level of customer service
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate reporting, reconciliations, and data integrity

The Successful Applicant

The successful Payroll Officer should have:

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Officer within a medium to large organisation
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, tax requirements, and compliance frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience with end-to-end payroll processing in complex environments
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage high-volume workloads and tight deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex payroll queries and discrepancies
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels of the business
  • A proactive, team-orientated approach with the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively
