A leading international resources company is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join the finance team on an initial 3-month contract to support a critical year-end reporting period.

About Our Client

Our client is an ASX listed mining company with multiple strong assets within gold. They are based in Perth's inner city suburbs and close to public transport and public parking.

Job Description

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in delivering year-end financial reporting across a global group structure. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the month-end and year-end close process
  • Preparing consolidated financial statements for a multinational group
  • Managing complex intercompany reconciliations and eliminations
  • Performing multi-currency consolidations across multiple international entities
  • Assisting with ASX reporting requirements and statutory accounts
  • Supporting the external audit process and responding to technical accounting queries
  • Preparing technical accounting papers and disclosures
  • Driving improvements to reporting processes and controls
  • Partnering with finance teams across various international jurisdictions



The Successful Applicant

To be successful, you will bring:

  • CA/CPA qualification
  • Big 4 Audit or Advisory background (highly regarded)
  • Extensive experience in group consolidations within a large or complex organisation
  • Mining experience highly desirable
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS/AASB standards
  • Proven experience managing multi-currency consolidations
  • Experience preparing statutory financial statements and supporting audits
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong systems capability
  • The ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment and hit the ground running
