Job Description

The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Prepare and review financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare year-end consolidated statutory accounts
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Provide analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making within the organisation.
  • Oversee the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and liaise with external auditors as required.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide financial advice and support.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and regulatory changes relevant to the Transport & Distribution sector.
  • Process improvement initiatives around systems, AI etc.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Financial Accountant should have:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications such as CA or CPA.
  • Audit background highly desirable
  • Proven experience in financial accounting within a corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational abilities.
  • Keen eye and proven history of leading process improvement initiatives
