About Our Client

The Steel Trader will be responsible for developing new business across Brisbane, QLD, and broader interstate markets. This includes sourcing steel products from international suppliers, managing imported stock lines, negotiating commercial agreements, and building long-term client partnerships.

Job Description

You will oversee pricing, trading activities, and supply chain coordination, working closely with operations to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction. The role offers monthly travel, exposure to global suppliers, and the chance to contribute directly to the company's national growth strategy.

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience steel distribution, reinforcing steel, fabrication, or industrial sales
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven ability to negotiate pricing and supply terms
  • Comfortable working with imported steel products and liaising with international mills (highly regarded)
  • Confident communicator who can build long‑term relationships with customers across QLD and interstate
  • Proactive, self‑driven, and autonomous
  • Personable, relatable, and able to represent a family‑owned business with professionalism
  • Strong initiative and a "go‑getter" mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities and take action
  • Competent with supply chain workflows including logistics, shipping, and documentation
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to travel monthly and meet clients face‑to‑face
