About Our Client

Michael Page is pleased to be partnering exclusively with a leading global organisation with a significant presence across Australia. We are currently seeking a commercially minded Systems Accountant (SAP Specialist) to join a high-performing finance team.

This role is ideal for a finance professional who combines strong accounting fundamentals with deep SAP expertise and enjoys driving system improvements, process efficiencies, and high-quality financial outcomes.

You will play a key role in supporting financial control, reporting, and system optimisation across the business, working closely with both finance and operational stakeholders.

Job Description

  • Act as a subject matter expert in SAP, supporting finance and operational teams
  • Drive system improvements and enhancements to increase efficiency, data accuracy, and reporting capability
  • Support and deliver financial reporting, analysis, and month-end activities
  • Extract, transform, and analyse financial data to provide meaningful business insights
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
  • Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into system solutions
  • Lead or support process improvement initiatives, including standardisation and documentation
  • Assist with system implementations, upgrades, and testing activities
  • Build reports and dashboards to support decision-making
  • Provide support across general accounting and financial management activities



The Successful Applicant

You are a commercially minded finance professional with a strong technical accounting foundation and a passion for systems, process improvement, and continuous improvement.

  • Proven experience working with SAP (S/4HANA or ECC) in a finance environment;
  • Solid financial accounting background, with broad exposure across:
    • Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss and Cashflow
    • Fixed Assets, Inventory and Intercompany
    • Treasury and Foreign Exchange (FX)
    • Tax (BAS / GST) and Project Accounting
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a hands-on financial and management reporting role
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and present financial data
  • Experience working with ERP systems and reporting tools (financial reporting, budgets, inventory, payroll)
  • Proven ability to contribute to process improvement, system optimisation, and documentation (e.g. SOPs/SDDs)
