Job Description

  • Maintain the general ledger for assigned funds, including journals, accruals, and reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual fund financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS / US GAAP)
  • Calculate Net Asset Value (NAV) and ensure timely and accurate investor reporting
  • Perform portfolio valuations, including review of pricing and investment positions
  • Reconcile cash, investments, and capital activity (subscriptions, redemptions, distributions)
  • Liaise with external stakeholders including fund administrators, custodians, auditors, and tax advisors
  • Support the audit process, including preparation of supporting documentation and responding to auditor queries
  • Monitor compliance with fund mandates, regulatory requirements, and internal controls
  • Assist with process improvements, system enhancements, and automation initiatives
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to internal stakeholders

The Successful Applicant

  • Mandatory: Prior experience in fund accounting (e.g., hedge funds, private equity, real estate, or managed funds)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • CA / CPA qualification (or working towards) preferred
  • Strong understanding of fund structures, capital flows, and investment instruments
  • Experience preparing NAV calculations and investor reporting
  • Knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with fund accounting systems (e.g., Investran, Yardi, Geneva, or similar) highly regarded
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
